ABOUT

The Collection has become a major fundraising event for BIFB, and we’re doing it all again.  Every two years the BIFB festival brings Australian audiences the best of the world’s photographic art in some of the most beautiful heritage venues in Ballarat in a month long photo extravaganza. The Collection 2015 provides an ideal opportunity to support the BIFB and ensure its ongoing success as Australia’s premier festival of photography.

For just $125 we invite you purchase a RED DOT and attend the BIFB Collection 2015 Gala Event.

Thanks to our fellow sponsors KayellEpson and Blurb.

GALA EVENT:

Over 125 prints by some of the best-known and collectible photographers from Australia and overseas will be available for purchase with a Red Dot at the Gala Event . This is a fantastic chance to acquire a ‘one off’ archival print for a price perhaps well under the value of what an artist might normally sell his or her works for.

A Red Dot entitles the purchaser to buy one of the prints in the exhibition. All prints are displayed anonymously.

The day commences with Red Dot #1 going to auction, followed by the calling of subsequent Red Dot numbers randomly by the ‘print selection lucky dip’. When your Red Dot number is called, you are able to select your desired print from the remaining available. If you draw print selection #5, you have the 5th choice of prints from the exhibition. Nobody knows what print selection order you’ll draw until the lucky dip! As all prints are displayed anonymously, you also won’t know whose work you’ve bought until it is taken off the wall and looked at the provenance on the back – this just adds to the fun!

So come and join us for an entertaining afternoon of great photography, fine food and wine and mingle with the fine art photography community!
