Join us for a tasting of some of the worlds best Shiraz / Syrah varieties along with an informative Shiraz/Syrah Masterclass by Jack Mullard about the history, style and winemaking techniques used to create such exquisite drops. This unique event will be held at Eleven40 Gallery where you’ll also be surrounded by the stunning 'Year in the Life of Grange' exhibition by Milton Wordley.
The Shiraz/Syrah Masterclass will begin with a 'blind’ tasting including four European and four Australian varieties all demonstrating their own unique styles and this will be followed by a tasting of the legendary Penfolds Grange itself. You'll enjoy well over $195 worth of value in wines alone from the tasting and this will be accompanied by grazing platters of fine meats, cheese & biscuits. All wines will be revealed after the blind tasting and Jack Mullard's Masterclass will emmerse you in a collaborative discussion over 1 1/2 hours where he will explain the many nuances of the various styles, tastes and techniques involved while also explaining how to best match wines and cheese.
Following the wine Masterclass, Milton Wordley, the creator and photographer behind the masterpiece of Australian wine publishing "A Year In The Life of Grange' will take us behind the scenes and discuss 'The Making Of' this great book. Milton will talk about his photographic philosophy and discuss how he went about self publishing what is fast becoming a collectors' item not unlike Penfolds Grange.
A landmark in Australian wine publishing. Superbly crafted and uncompromisingly presented, this limited-edition collectors’ item of original photographs and words tells the story of one of the world’s most celebrated wines.

“I’ve got well over a thousand wine books in my library,
and only one comes close to this”. James Halliday (The Australian Wine Companion)
“THIS is a biggie: one for the obsessed wine collector who already has a cellar full of great bottles. Yes, it is a lot of cash to spend on a book, but this exceptionally well-told tale of Australia’s most famous wine is also an incredibly limited, absolutely gorgeous work of art, beautiful to hold, to read, to pour over”. Max Allen (The Weekend Australian)
